Kristi L. Irish Liebowitz, FNP

Kristi is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. With a strong background as a float nurse at Vassar Hospital, she is eager to transition to primary care, with a goal of prevention and wellness to help individuals lead the healthiest lifestyle possible. Kristi was born and raised in the Hudson Valley and lives locally with her husband, Jeff, and their rescue pittie, Bailey.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I am a strong advocate for my patients and always try to empower them to take control of their health. I feel individuals must be treated as a whole, and that in addition to physical, mental and emotional well-being is crucial to overall health.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
My patients can expect me to be patient, open, and engaging in their care. In return, I expect my patients to be honest and proactive regarding their health so that we can work together as a team to achieve the best possible outcomes.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
In my free time, I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my husband and dog, whether it be lounging and watching movies or out hiking in the warmer weather. I enjoy reading, plants and exercise, especially Pilates and kickboxing, and have recently picked up bird watching from our back deck.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose Family Medicine because I enjoy being able to care for individuals of all ages and with various needs and priorities. I enjoy the challenge of adjusting my approach and care based on these individual needs. Primary care enables me to coordinate care, and the greatest reward is being able to establish lasting relationships with my patients and working together to achieve and maintain optimal health.
