Kristin C. Newton, MD

Kristin Newton is an internist, board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. As part of the Hospitalist Team, Dr. Newton enjoys caring for patients when they are admitted – and helping to coordinate care when they are ready to leave. She finds it rewarding to work closely with the rest of the hospital care team in order to meet all the healthcare needs of our patients. She enjoys gardening, writing, reading, and keeping up with her three young sons.

Dr. Newton is unique in her approach to a whole-patient care model- which integrates a patient’s unique life experiences and medical conditions in a holistic approach to their care.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Dr. Newton enjoys making compassionate connections with her patients and showing them that health can be achieved with a team mindset.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
Dr. Newton enjoys working in her vegetable and cut-flower garden, writing bits of her novel, and caring for her three active sons.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Dr. Newton chose Family Medicine for its diversity, complexity, and challenges. She enjoys caring for patients in a variety of settings, including outpatient and inpatient, and caring for patients of all ages and stages. She loves that she gets to do a little bit of everything and her greatest reward is learning something new every day.
