Kylie O'Connor, CNM

Kylie O'Connor, MSN, CNM, is a board-certified Nurse Midwife servicing people across their lifespan, from teenage to postmenopausal years at Norwalk Hospital. She is driven by a passion for gynecological and reproductive health equity and justice. Kylie has experience in culturally diverse healthcare settings and approaches each patient with empathy and care. Her expertise includes gynecological care, pregnancy and postpartum care, shared decision making in birth control choices, and hormone replacement therapy and other menopausal treatment.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I believe it is important to give every person the time they need in their appointments to address their concerns and questions, and I love educating people about options for their care in easily understandable ways.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I treat each person as an individual and believe that their care is their choice. In return, I expect respect and clear communication.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
When I'm not at work I love reading, trying new foods with loved ones, spending time with my family and pets, and being outside as much as possible.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I fell in love with sexual and reproductive health in high school where I was fortunate enough to have a great health teacher with real-life experiences. I went to SCSU for nursing, which further solidified my love for gynecological and obstetric care, and never looked back. I'm very lucky to love what I do this much.
