Laura Tafuri, MD

Born and raised in Madison, Connecticut, I pursued my higher education at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. My medical journey began with the first two years of medical school in St. Kitts before returning to the United States for clinical training. I completed my OBGYN residency at Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I am dedicated, non-judgmental and care deeply for my patients and their health. I am happy to go above and beyond to help when needed, especially with vulnerable patient populations.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I cherish open, honest and vulnerable conversations with my patients so that they feel they can tell me anything so I can best help them without any judgement.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I spend time with family, friends, and 2 rescue Basset Hounds; Wally and Lucy. I love to be by the beach, swimming, kayaking and traveling.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I love the continuity I get with my patients and the relationships we get to build. Every day is different and exciting.
