Lauren Cordova, PA-C

Lauren Cordova is a certified Physician Assistant on the cardiac surgery team who provides comprehensive and personalized care for her patients. She provides a relaxing and welcoming environment to all, understanding that surgery can be stressful, and wants her patients to feel heard and safe while in her care. While working, Lauren continues to educate herself on the nuances of cardiothoracic surgery by reading articles, journals, and books for her patient’s safety and recovery.  She is fluent in Spanish and is proud to be representing the Latino community. She grew up in the Hudson Valley and is looking forward to giving back and advocating for her community. 

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
My priority is to make patients feel comfortable and safe during their time with me. I want each patient to know that I am treating them as a person and not just the surgery they are having.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
My patients should expect personalized, compassionate care from me. I want them to be a part of the process by asking me questions and bringing their concerns to me so that I or the team may address them to the best of my abilities.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy watching movies, working out, trying new restaurants, reading and spending time with loved ones.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
After completing my rotation in CT surgery and seeing heart surgery for the first time, I knew that I wanted to pursue this career.
