Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I have extensive experience working with patients who suffer from chronic incurable illnesses in both the inpatient and outpatient settings during my residency and fellowship training. My fellowship training further equipped me with the knowledge and skills to manage a wide range of medical conditions, focusing on holistic care for my patients and their family members. I am dedicated to meeting my patients at their level, ensuring that care is delivered with utmost compassion and respect for their journeys and that we form a therapeutic physician-patient relationship to maximize their wellness.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patients should expect to receive extra support from me and my multi-disciplinary colleagues to help them with the challenges of facing serious medical illnesses. In return, I ask my patients to be honest with me and keep an open mind to learn more about their conditions and the pros and cons associated with available treatment plans.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, learning new things (medical and non-medical), video games and various outdoor activities depending on the season.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Palliative medicine affords me the unique opportunity to spend time with my patients with the sole focus of figuring out what goals are most important to them and how we can achieve/maintain those goals. I enjoy meeting people of various backgrounds, educating and learning together with my patients and devising a personalized care plan for each person. The greatest rewards are the moments when I see the light bulbs turn on in people's heads (or my own!), knowing that we have reached a better understanding of each other as humans.
