Liana Tatarian, DO

Dr. Tatarian completed her Internal Medicine Residency through the Stony Brook University Hospital system where she was appointed Chief Resident for her outstanding leadership skills. She is deeply passionate about resident education and looks forward to mentoring the next generation of exceptional physicians.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health? 
I am deeply passionate about my profession and enjoy providing patient-centered care.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them? 
My patients should expect honest and open communication and I would expect the same from them.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients? 
My biggest passion outside of work is travel. I have been to 30+ countries and 5 out of the 7 continents. Travel provides me the opportunity to explore new places, cultures and environments.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward? 
My favorite aspect of internal medicine in the hospital setting is the privilege of caring for the whole patient and watching him/her progress from admission to discharge.
