Liz Joseph, MD

Dr. Liz Joseph is dedicated to creating and sustaining strong and long lasting relationships with her patients. She is a strong believer in the importance of patient education to improve their quality of life. She has been trained in a primary care residency program and understands the importance of preventative medicine and seeing her patients beyond their diagnosis. She is fluent in Malayalam and enjoys spending her time with her family, her puppy, and friends when she is out of work, as well as baking and running.

My focus is to work with my patients to deliver quality care that exceeds their expectations.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
The key element to a great patient/doctor relationship is trust and honesty. I hope my patients will see the dedication and respect I have for them and in return, hope for their honesty and trust.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I love to spend time with my family, friends, my dog, and traveling. My favorite hobbies are baking and running.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Throughout my training, I saw many sick patients in the hospital with acute exacerbations of their chronic diseases. In addition, many life-changing discussions were held with loved ones in the hospital. I believe many of these exacerbations and life-changing discussions could have been prevented with closer follow-up with primary care doctors. I chose primary care to help as many patients and their loved ones from having to have these discussions and prevent hospitalizations. I love the idea of establishing long-lasting relationships to better care for patients as a whole and not just a disease.
