About Lynn M. Taylor
Professional Statement
Lynn Taylor is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse who graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2008. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is also a member of the Hospice and Palliative Nurse Association.
Before pursuing a career in nursing, Lynn was a medical malpractice paralegal. She later returned to school to become a registered nurse and worked in pediatrics. Before specializing in hospice care, she was employed by The Community Health Center, Inc. in Middletown, Connecticut, where she provided care to underprivileged and underserved children in a school-based clinic. Although a very gratifying position and without a doubt made a huge difference in many young people’s lives, it was her volunteering at The Connecticut Hospice that shaped her career path by inspiring her to focus on hospice and palliative care. Spending time with the hospice patients as a volunteer was rewarding as she assisted the patients and families with their physical and emotional needs. This led her to develop a passion for caring for individuals during difficult times, particularly those with serious illnesses transitioning to end-of-life care.
Eventually, she sought out career opportunities that would allow her to make a more meaningful impact in the lives of those facing terminal illnesses and an ever-changing health status. Lynn finds it a privilege and honor to be allowed to sit down and talk with people about very important details of their lives including assisting in advance.
