Madalina I Raut, MD

Madalina Raut, MD is a board-certified physician with 20 years of experience in primary care. She completed her residence program at Danbury Hospital in 2003. After residency she dedicated her full knowledge and skills to patients care. She has been focused on providing high quality comprehensive care including diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses but also screening and preventive care, women health and management of chronic conditions. She believes in a collective approach to healthcare, working together with patients to achieve their health goals.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I think that a primary care doctor should not only have excellent knowledge and skills but also be able to listen to patients, focus on their individual needs and be compassionate. I have always put my patients interests and well-being first and tried my best to communicate and answer all their questions and concerns. I am committed to act as an advocate for my patients within the health system and help them to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

 What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patient should expect a comprehensive and individualized care, an easy and open communication with me based on honesty, trust and respect. They should expect my full commitment to work with them to manage all aspects of their health and help them stay healthy. I will always offer my best medical advice but also consider and understand a patient's individual needs and preferences when making treatment plans.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I like to spend time with my family and friends, I enjoy travelling and various outdoor activities like hiking, pickleball in the warm seasons and skiing and skating in the winter.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Primary care gives me the opportunity to offer patients a comprehensive and personalized care. I believe that regular visits with a PCP will allow early detection of potential health problems. I also enjoy the opportunity to inform patients on healthy behaviors and lifestyle choices. But the greatest reward is to be able to provide ongoing care for patients throughout their lives and the trust and sense of connection with patients.
