Following his graduation, he embarked on a journey to expand his knowledge and expertise.
Driven by a desire to delve deeper into the complexities of psychiatric conditions, Dr. Soudan spent two transformative years as a research specialist at Emory University. During this time, he immersed himself in the study of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and various other psychiatric disorders, exploring diverse facets of these conditions and contributing valuable insights to the field.
Eager to further his clinical skills and make a tangible difference in patient care, Dr. Soudan pursued residency training, where he served as Chief Resident for his final two years. Throughout his four-year residency in psychiatry, he demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities and a commitment to excellence. His dedication to patient well-being and his proficiency in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders earned him recognition among colleagues and patients alike.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Soudan is a prolific researcher and educator. In my time, I enjoy a variety of activities including playing and watching soccer, going swimming and cherishing moments with friends and family, which rejuvenate me for the demands of patient care.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose psychiatry for its profound intersection of human connection and mental health complexities, finding its greatest reward in witnessing patients achieve mental wellness and reclaim their lives with newfound resilience and hope.
