Manbir Kaur Sandhu, MD

I am originally from Toronto, Canada. After receiving my Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of Toronto, I pursued my medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, earning my Doctor of Medicine. I completed my residency training in Internal medicine at Connecticut Institute for Communities, focusing on primary care. Therefore, I am equipped to provide patient-centered care by partnering with my patients to meet their individual needs in a professional and friendly manner. I am enthusiastic about forming lifelong relationships with my patients built on trust and honesty. My area of expertise is adult preventive medicine, managing acute and chronic medical conditions and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

I strive to communicate effectively by listening to and understanding my patients’ concerns and solving complex problems together. I am confident in my ability to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to all my patients. I value the role of advocating for my patients and educating patients about the nature of their disease processes

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
The patient-doctor relationship needs to be based on mutual respect and honesty as this can enable us to provide effective personalized care.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband and children, enjoying the outdoors and cooking.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I am passionate about medicine and enjoy solving complex medical problems. It’s a privilege for me to care for my patients and I cherish the opportunity to develop strong longitudinal bonds with my patients and help them along their journey to wellness.
