About Marc Kevin T. Yee

Professional Statement

Marc Kevin Yee, MD, grew up in the Philippines, where he developed an early interest in caring for others. He completed his medical education at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMCI) before moving to the United States.

He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital in Westchester County, New York. Dr. Yee is board certified in Internal Medicine and holds a supplemental certification in obesity medicine, which he uses when relevant to patient care.

Before joining us as a Hospitalist, Dr. Yee worked as a Primary Care Physician in California, providing continuity care for diverse patient populations. Earlier in his career, he also spent time teaching medical students and residents.

Outside of work, Dr. Yee enjoys staying active and spending time with his family. He likes playing basketball, taking walks in the park, and exploring new restaurants with his wife and daughter. At home, he relaxes with his dog, Nugget, who adds plenty of warmth to daily life.

Get To Know Me

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
Beyond credentials and certifications, I think one trait I try to exude is being emphatic to others. I think understanding a patient's situation and trying to see another's perspective, makes me a more level-headed and pragmatic physician.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I believe accountability is one of the most important aspects of a patient-doctor relationship. As their doctor, I aim to take ownership in the way I care and guide my patients to better health, and as patients I hope they take aim at the same level of ownership for their own health decisions as well. I think mutual respect, honesty, and cooperation between patients and their doctors lead to the best outcomes.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I look forward to spending time with my wife and our daughter the most and seeing her grow up brings me joy. Also spending time with our dog, Nugget, is a great stress reliever for me.

I am also an avid fan of basketball and try to stay in whatever shape I can to continue playing this sport I grew up with.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Internal medicine is known to be one of the most extensive and board practices in Medicine in General. Being able to see cases from a broad perspective and somehow having an expectation to be able to provide a wide range of services for patients challenges me to perform at my best and is such a rewarding experience.
