Matthew Pernice, NP

Matthew Pernice is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with extensive experience in urgent care and cardiology. Before becoming a provider, he spent more than 10 years as a registered nurse in a variety of clinical settings, including more than five years specializing in cardiac care. His experience caring for patients undergoing interventional procedures and open-heart surgery continues to shape his thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to cardiology care.

Now practicing in both inpatient and outpatient cardiology, Matthew is committed to providing care that is clinically excellent, clear, practical, and patient-centered. He values straightforward communication and works to empower patients to better understand and manage their heart health.

With an approachable manner and sense of humor, Matthew strives to help patients feel comfortable, supported, and at ease—even during challenging moments.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I am currently learning to play guitar and enjoy hiking, biking, and listening to music. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose cardiology because I find it especially interesting and meaningful from a physiological perspective. The greatest reward is seeing how evidence-based care can improve patients’ long-term health outcomes.
