Melissa Melilli, NP

Melissa Melilli is a Family Nurse Practitioner who is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is committed to providing high-quality care that focuses not only on a diagnosis but on the patient as a whole. She comes to Breast Surgery after 18 years as an ICU nurse, and she strives to provide care that is patient-centered, with a focus on trust, communication, and education.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
As a nurse, I have a strong foundation built on compassion, advocacy, and education. Those qualities will be put to use every day in caring for my patients.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
As a provider, my goal is to advocate for you. Being part of the Breast Surgery team allows me to help you navigate your care, answer questions, and provide you with the resources you need to be well-informed about your health. In return, I would expect my patients to be honest, ask questions, and be committed to positive change.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
When I'm not caring for patients you can often find me coaching on the soccer field. I love spending time with my family and friends and enjoying the outdoors.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
So many people are affected by breast cancer in our area. Being part of a team that works together to provide specialized care for these patients is the greatest reward. Patients have a place, near their home, where they can receive top-level care while being supported by family and friends.
