Professional Statement
Michael Capicotto, MD, is a board-certified internist and nephrologist by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He is a graduate of SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. His residency and fellowship were performed at Brown University School of Medicine. In addition to the treatment of kidney disease, he specializes in the treatment of hypertension and tailors therapies to the patient. When not working, you can find Dr. Capicotto at home with his family.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
Having seen the effects of kidney disease on my own family, I can empathize with my patients and their families.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Whether they are in the office, dialysis center or hospital, I will be there for them. I expect my patients to partner with me in their care.
How do you spend your personal time when you're not caring for patients?
I enjoy cooking for my family and reading.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I love the complexity and the challenges. I never stop trying to learn.

Dr Capicotto is a gem! He listens carefully to all my questions and concerns and addresses each one. He takes into account all my medical issues. Is knowledgeable beyond just the kidney.

Dr Capicotto is a very caring gentle and friendly man. He always has answers to my questions and he always asks if I have questions. I have been associated with him for 20 or more years and I absolutely adore him and admire his talent as a doctor and his knowledge in the field he is in. I always feel like I'm going to see a friend, not a doctor because he has been kind and gentle for all these years.

Dr Capicotto saved my life!!! By the grace iof God. I had a tumor in my pancreas and he was the only doctor to find it. He is fantastic!! Best doctor ever!! Love him!
