Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I trained in an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center where multidisciplinary care involving medical oncology, radiation oncology and surgical oncology come together to create the best treatment plans. When I see a patient for their oncology treatment, I give them my professional opinion as a surgeon and present complex cancer patients at our weekly tumor board to assure multidisciplinary care.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them
Patients should know that I will listen to them and provide them with as much time as they need to get their questions answered so that they are comfortable with the treatment plan going forward. I expect patients to call me when they have problems or new questions arise.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy hiking in the Hudson Valley with my dogs, eating at local restaurants and cooking at home.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose surgical oncology because I enjoy the complex, ever-evolving nature of cancer care, working closely with my partners and colleagues in the cancer center and the long-term relationships I form with cancer patients during their cancer management and surveillance afterward.

He was able to fit me in for an unscheduled follow up to check the biopsy site for possible infection. He removed sutures, did not see indications of infection, but swab the site and ordered a test. Explained everything well. Very reassuring!
