Michael L. Steckman, MD

Dr. Steckman offers years of experience in the evolving specialty of Gastroenterology. He began medical training at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC and after specialty training in Gastroenterology, moved to the Hudson Valley to practice. He strives to make GI procedures as safe and comfortable as possible for all his patients. In the past, Dr. Steckman has been a mentor for medical students and residents. He has held leadership positions as chairman of medicine and president of the medical staff at local hospitals. His time is spent with his wife, enjoying the beauty of the Hudson Valley with an emphasis on hiking, kayaking and pickleball.

Patients should expect that I will always have their best interest in mind. I will strive for the best outcomes. I expect that how I care for them will earn their trust.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
Mainly in outdoor pursuits such as hiking, kayaking and pickleball.

Gastroenterology is a constantly evolving and interesting field. The best reward is from patient satisfaction.
