About Nicholas Bills
Professional Statement
Nicholas Bills, DO, is a lifelong resident of New York’s Hudson Valley, where he spent his formative years in Kingston. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Marist College (now Marist University) in Poughkeepsie, graduating with additional minors in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Dr. Bills went on to receive his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, where he was honored with awards for both professionalism and clinical excellence.
Throughout his medical training, Dr. Bills was actively involved in leadership and advocacy through organizations such as the Student Government Organization, the Student Osteopathic Medical Association, and the Medical Society of the State of New York. These experiences helped shape his commitment to medical policy and advocacy—particularly in support of his home region.
Now, as an attending physician, he is proud to return to the Hudson Valley, where he looks forward to serving his community and applying his skills in both clinical care and health policy.
Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
As a provider, I have a strong foundation in evidence-based medicine with a focus on fostering patient-physician relationships.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I believe taking the time to connect and clearly explain medical care is paramount. As a patient I believe that remaining involved in all discussions allows this relationship to flourish.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
In my free time, I enjoy staying active through a variety of sports, including running, biking, hiking, and snowboarding in the winter.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Internal Medicine offers the opportunity to build lasting patient relationships while managing a wide range of medical conditions. The greatest reward is the feeling of solving a problem that is plaguing a patient.
