Nikia is a highly experienced registered nurse with over twelve years of hands-on experience in fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare settings. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive expertise in managing acutely ill patients, always maintaining a commitment to patient-centered care. 

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she is trained to care for patients across the lifespan but has chosen to focus her practice on managing hospitalized patients with acute medical conditions. As a Hospitalist, Nikia is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care for acutely ill patients, with a strong focus on improving patient outcomes and reducing hospital readmission rates. How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
When I'm not caring for patients, I cherish spending quality time with my family and our two dogs. I also enjoy traveling, especially to Tennessee, where I love exploring new places and creating lasting memories. This time away from work allows me to recharge and appreciate life outside of healthcare.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose to specialize in hospitalist care to have a meaningful impact on patients facing acute medical challenges. The greatest reward is improving patient outcomes during critical times, knowing I contribute significantly to their healing and recovery. This specialty fosters ongoing professional development and provides opportunities to engage with a diverse array of clinical cases.
