Nira Ray, PA

Back in CT after 25 years, having attended the Quinnipiac University PA Program, Nira has practiced in many different surgical specialties in the SF Bay Area. With decades of surgical experience, she excels at connecting with patients during what can be both a vulnerable and frightening time. She is a strong advocate for patients navigating the complicated and confusing healthcare system. She has worked extensively with the LGBTQ community as a PA and ally.

As a lifelong athlete, she is an avid open-water swimmer with dozens of Alcatraz swims under her belt. She’s an Adjunct PA Professor, business owner and loving dog mom. She and her fiancé just moved to Wilton.

With the foundation of expertise that comes from a decades-long career as a surgical PA, I pride myself on focusing on connecting human to human. 

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
My patients can expect a knowledgeable and compassionate advocate. 

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
Having just moved back to CT after 25 years, my fiance and I are exploring the area, creating new routines and healthy habits, running the local trails, trying new restaurants and making new friends. 

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I’m a procedurally oriented person. My father was an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon, so I grew up with a profound respect for Spine Surgery. It’s the perfect combination of construction tools, erector sets and exquisitely delicate work that provides the patient a structural solution to a structural problem.
