Rachel Drost is a certified physician assistant practicing emergency medicine. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and her master’s in physician assistant studies from Shenandoah University. She is dedicated to delivering comprehensive and thoughtful care to individuals of all ages, while ensuring patients feel supported during urgent and unexpected situations.

I treat each patient with respect and compassion while providing my attention to individual concerns. In the emergency setting, it is my goal to ensure that patients feel supported and reassured.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patients can expect honesty and open communication. I want patients to feel informed, involved, and confident in their care. I strive to create an environment in which patients feel comfortable asking questions and sharing all their concerns with honesty in return.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I enjoy spending my time with family, traveling, crafting, and running.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose emergency medicine because of the diversity in encounters and endless opportunities to deliver meaningful care. The greatest reward is the ability to provide support when patients may feel most vulnerable.
