Raechel R. Bayuzick, PA-C

Raechel Bayuzick is a board-certified physician assistant on the general surgery team. She received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston, MA, and moved to the Hudson Valley soon after. She is devoted to compassionate patient care and patient safety. On days off, she enjoys spending time outdoors and working on various home projects.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I have a commitment to compassionate patient care. I ensure that my patients’ questions are answered and that their concerns are heard. I believe that it’s important to see the whole person beyond just the surgery they’re having.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
My patients can expect me to put their safety and needs first. I expect my patients to be active participants in their care because working together leads to better outcomes.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
As a recent home-buyer, there is always something to work on at home! I also enjoy running and spending time outside hiking with my husband and my dog.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose general surgery because I loved the teamwork aspect of the specialty. Its greatest reward is following a patient from their surgery through their discharge from the hospital and watching them improve each day.
