Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I am passionate about patient care, and I work to develop relationships with patients throughout their healthcare journey from diagnosis to long-term follow-up. I am a strong patient advocate. I have many years of experience working as part of a healthcare team and am very excited to be part of this dynamic and talented group.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I will provide excellent care as part of the Breast Surgery team working closely with the physicians to assess your needs, ease concerns, and promote timely communication to support your plan of care. I will be diligent in managing your case. Working together I want to help you navigate the healthcare system and promote health and wellness in both mind and body.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I have been an avid runner for years and use it as both exercise and relaxation. Otherwise, you will find me on the peloton bike or outside by the pool in the summer months. I also love to bake. I enjoy time spent with my husband and family traveling to visit our 3 children/family in different parts of the country. I have 1 grandchild and look forward to many more. During my weekend time, we often enjoy the deep lasting friendships we have made living in the local community for over 35 years.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose this specialty due to my interest in oncology and immunology and my personal experience with close friends and family with cancer. I am rewarded by knowing I can provide a positive experience, support and guidance for patients throughout their care.

She immediately put me at ease, was patient and thorough in the exam, explained what she was doing and answered all My questions. She also reviewed all my Meds and explained any likely side effects.

She was awesome and spent alot if time with me and getting to know me. She truly listened to my questions and concerns and was genuinely thinking about how to help.

The confirmation calls I received for my visits were automated therefore came in at non-sequential times. Had I not been paying attention, I might have arrived at the incorrect time and missed my appointment. Also, I waited 30 minutes to be seen and no one (receptionist, the nurse who took me back, or Rebecca apologized for the wait).

Rebecca Smart is the kind of provider that is getting harder to come by these days. She’s very present, thorough, and really makes you feel like she’s got your back. I feel well informed and heard when I see her.
