Rebecca Blackwell-Hafner, FNP

Rebecca Blackwell-Hafner is an ANCC board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who provides primary care to patients of all ages. A native of the Hudson Valley, Rebecca feels a deep connection to the community she serves and draws upon her dynamic professional history and education to provide thoughtful, comprehensive care to all. Having graduated from the University of New Mexico, New York University, and Mount Saint Mary College, her life has brought her various meaningful and diverse experiences. With over two decades of healthcare experience, and deep roots in Kingston's medical community, her passion for emergency medicine, cardiology, women's health and pediatrics has brought her to primary care, where she is ideally positioned to address the unique needs of her patients.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I provide an integrative, open-minded, and evidence-based approach. I believe in listening to patients and building a relationship based on trust and respect. I know and love this community and am honored to have the privilege to help improve the quality of health and life for every resident.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I develop a personal, mutually respectful relationship with every patient I care for. I use a collaborative method, utilizing all of the valuable community resources available to tailor each patient's plan of care to maximize optimal health for the individual. I expect to work together to achieve the highest level of health while maintaining an environment cemented in kind, honest communication.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I love to spend time laughing and enjoying life with my family and friends, traveling as often as possible, toiling alone in my garden and cooking with what I grow. My greatest joy is my son and watching him grow up is the most special gift that life has given me.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Primary care is the ultimate synthesis of my interests. It requires the critical importance of attention to detail, the ability to see the bigger picture, the confidence to incorporate and utilize external resources, the creativity to provide a personal, holistic experience for each individual, and the candor to connect with my patients in a meaningful, genuine way.
