Rebecca McGuire, AGNP

Rebecca McGuire, NP is a board-certified adult/gerontology nurse practitioner who completed a master’s degree through Mount Saint Mary College. Rebecca began her nursing career in 2010 working in oncology/hematology and found her passion providing care and developing rapport and relationships with the patients she cared for. When Rebecca returned to graduate school to complete her Master's, she knew she wanted to stay in oncology/hematology because of how much she enjoyed caring for this population.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I pride myself on being a compassionate person who enjoys developing meaningful rapport with patients.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
My patients should expect a provider that is patient, caring, compassionate, and ready to listen to their concerns. In return I expect an open, trusting relationship so we can give the best care possible.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I enjoy spending time with my husband and dog; we are always involved in doing projects around the house. I am also an avid reader of thriller novels.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose oncology because it is deeply personal to me. Every day is a reward to be a part of the journey of the patients I care for. I enjoy hearing about their lives, seeing pictures from their events, and celebrating milestones right along with them!
