Richard Alexander Bordowitz, MD

Richard Bordowitz, MD is Board Certified in Family Medicine, Preventive Medicine and Clinical Informatics. He has been an Assistant Professor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was Deputy Director of the Preventive Medicine Residency Program and Ambulatory Care Clerkship Director. He has proudly served veterans at both the James J. Peters Bronx VA and VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, where he was also the Designated Education Officer. From 1995-1997, he volunteered in Kenya.

I have over 25 years of healthcare experience. I am a compassionate physician who actively listens to patients. 

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patients should expect a partner in their health care. I want them to do their best to take care of their health. 

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I spend time with my family. I enjoy hiking and walks in the area and going to the historic sites in the Hudson Valley.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose family medicine because it allows me to see patients of all age groups. It is very rewarding to have long term relationships with patients and have a positive impact on their health.
