Richard Blansky, MD is a board-certified gastroenterologist with over 30 years of clinical experience diagnosing and treating a wide variety of gastrointestinal disorders. He is known for his patient centered approach and working with patients, families, and caregivers to provide the best care possible. He has performed thousands of endoscopic procedures throughout his career. His passion is to deliver a high level of medical expertise in a down-to-earth and easy to understand way for his patients. He is excited to join the Greater Danbury community and be closer to family.

I value a patient’s experience with their physician which I believe leads to better outcomes. I expect my patients to feel comfortable asking questions and participating in their medical care.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I enjoy time with my family and outdoor activities such as hiking, tennis, and bicycle riding.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Gastroenterology is the perfect medical specialty. It combines the problem solving of diagnostic challenges with hands on technical skills. The greatest rewards are the physician patient relationships that grow over time.
