Sashank Dusi, MD

Dr. Dusi is an internal medicine physician, board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. As a Poughkeepsie native, he has a deep connection to the Hudson Valley and is committed to serving his local community. He has advanced training in Point-of-Care Ultrasound and is skilled in a multitude of bedside procedures. Outside of work, he enjoys long-distance running, travel, and spending time in the outdoors. He speaks Telugu natively and is proficient in Hindi as well.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I am always learning, and always growing. I continue to further my medical education and training every day. I’m constantly striving to help my patients that much more.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patients should expect me to be invested in their health, and to truly listen when they express their concerns. I expect honesty in the physician-patient relationship, and with a foundation of mutual honesty there is no limit to what can be accomplished.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy outdoor activities, long-distance running, and travel!

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose Internal Medicine because I enjoy caring for the whole patient and seeing the interplay between organ systems and how together, they impact a person’s overall health is fascinating. Pinpointing a diagnosis, and watching a patient improve after they receive appropriate treatment is an amazing reward.
