Savita Sreejith is a board-certified nurse practitioner who specializes in gastroenterology. Savita began her healthcare career 20 years ago and has worked for the past 18 years in various healthcare specialties, providing clinical, case management and utilization management services. She is board-certified as an adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner (AGPCNP-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a board-certified case manager (CCM) with the Commission for Case Manager Certifications. During her extensive case management role, she thrived to meet her patients and their family's comprehensive health needs through communication and available resources to promote patient safety and quality of care cost-effectively.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I believe in empowering and educating patients to become active participants in their healthcare for meaningful outcomes. Forming trusting professional relationships with patients by listening to them and focusing on the details is very important. My goal is to treat each patient with respect and provide them with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their healthcare.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
When I am not caring for patients, I love spending time with my family and traveling around the world.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Holding a passion for whole-body wellness and preventative care, I developed a further interest in gastroenterology when I was studying to become a nurse practitioner. Digestive health is tailored to overall health and the body's immune system and treating gastrointestinal conditions is rewarding to me as I enjoy helping people and providing care to those who need it most.
