Sheena L. Bruenn, FNP

Sheena Bruenn is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 18 years of experience in diverse healthcare settings. She began her career in 2007 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Pace University. She then spent nine years working in nursing with the last several years in emergency medicine before returning to graduate school, earning her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in 2016.

After completing her MSN, Sheena worked in primary care for three years, focusing on preventive care and chronic disease management. She later transitioned to hospital medicine, where she currently practices as a hospitalist. Sheena is committed to treating the whole patient, addressing both acute medical needs and long-term health goals through evidence-based, compassionate care.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Sheena is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing her to effectively communicate with a diverse patient population.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
The most important thing patients should expect from me is dedication to their care. We are a team, and I expect them to be active participants in their care.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I spend time enjoying my family and making memories.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I enjoy the science of acute medicine and that everyday there is something new to learn. The greatest reward is helping people.
