Sheila Tang, a Nurse Practitioner is board certified by ANCC in adult health. She focuses on hematologic and malignant conditions. Shelia takes the time to build compassionate relationships with her patients and prides herself and her ability to help everyone the best she can. Sheila is originally from Brooklyn. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, staying active, and spending time with family, friends and her Cane Corso puppy.

I take the time to get to know my patients and provide a personalized approach to treatment and recovery.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Compassion and commitment. I maintain long-standing relationships with my patients and I expect open communication from them, so we can work together to provide the best care possible.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I spend my spare time with my husband, family, friends, and cane corso. We like nature walks and hiking. I also enjoy trying different types of food and exploring new places when we travel.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
It is motivating for me to help improve patients' prognosis and/or quality of life as they face a difficult journey ahead. The technology and medicine to improve the outcomes for cancer patients are constantly advancing and with that, there is more hope for each patient to win the battle and call themselves survivors.
