Professional Statement
Dr. Harrison is a general cardiologist, board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She believes that building strong patient-doctor relationships starts with listening to patients and tailoring care to meet their personal needs. Dr. Harrison has a special interest in lifestyle effects on wellness and in her free time, she enjoys spinning and spending time on the soccer fields with her family.
Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I pride myself on having open, honest and straightforward conversations with patients about their health. I take time to listen to patient's concerns and discuss options for treatment plans. I enjoy educating and explaining cardiac problems to patients, so they can fully understand what is wrong, and how to fix it.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patients will always get a direct, honest, caring answer from me. I will explain my rationale for offering testing or treatment and always respect a patient's decision. In return, I expect patients to be candid with me. We are a team, working together to improve the patient's health.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
In my spare time, I enjoy running, spinning on my Peloton and cooking healthy meals. Most importantly, I love spending time with my family, including my husband and my 3 sons. All 3 children play soccer, so I spend a lot of time on the fields.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Cardiology always interested me due to the breadth of the field. As a general cardiologist, I have the opportunity to educate patients about preventing heart attacks but also have the privilege of caring for patients at their sickest times. From prevention of disease to treating chronic cardiac problems, to end-of-life care, Cardiology offers so many opportunities to make a real impact on my patients' lives. The greatest reward for me is seeing the look in someone's eyes when they realize that their doctor cares about them.
