What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
My patients can expect a constant endeavor to accurately diagnose the disease and an empathetic approach to care is what patients can expect. Since healing and alleviation are the final goals of physician-patient encounters, patients are expected to participate in the solutions with a due understanding of the disease, and adherence to the path to achieve those goals.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy hiking and traveling. 

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
The practice of internal medicine is like putting the pieces of a large jigsaw puzzle together to reach a set of conclusions that make the greatest sense when diagnostic hypotheses abound and compete. Diagnosing internal diseases from the available information at any juncture, such as with history and physical examination alone or when this is complimented by laboratory and imaging, is extremely exciting; the excitement is proportional to the knowledge and skills. Internal medicine, particularly as it relates to hospitalized patients, only keeps getting interesting if one can keep the enthusiasm undying. No case is “cut and dry”, as a deeper dive into the understanding of the disease and phenomena in a given context always remains an option. The greatest reward of the practice is the facilitation of healing.
