Stuart E. Bussell, MD

Stuart Bussell, MD, is the Harold and Cora Spratt Endowed Chair in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Danbury Hospital. He is a colon and rectal surgeon, board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, as well as the American Board of Surgery. He has been proud to serve our community since 2002. He provides a kind, compassionate approach to complex surgical issues. His expertise includes laparoscopy for colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and diverticulitis. Additionally, he provides experienced care for hemorrhoids, anal pain, fistulae and fecal incontinence. Dr. Bussell enjoys family time, running and hiking in the Litchfield Hills.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose colon and rectal surgery due to the challenge of changing life altering digestive diseases. The end result is improved digestive health and quality of life.
