Stuart Jacobsen, MD, is a resident physician who values thoughtful, patient-centered care and the relationships that make good medicine possible. He earned his medical degree after training in multiple countries, an experience that broadened his perspective on healthcare and strengthened his ability to care for patients from diverse backgrounds.

Raised in Canada, Dr. Jacobsen developed an early interest in medicine through his family’s emphasis on service and community. Growing up, he volunteered in hospitals, local shelters, and community organizations—experiences that shaped his belief that good medicine extends beyond diagnoses and procedures. To him, it means listening carefully, advocating for patients, and treating every person with respect and dignity.

His clinical interests include procedural medicine, preventative care, and helping patients see meaningful improvements in their health and quality of life. He enjoys working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and believes the best outcomes come when patients feel informed, supported, and actively involved in their care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Jacobsen enjoys traveling, exploring new cities, staying active, and finding humor in everyday moments. He believes curiosity, balance, and a commitment to continual growth are important both in medicine and in life.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
Traveling, staying active, exploring new cities, and spending time with friends and family—usually with plenty of humor along the way.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose it for its blend of relationships and problem-solving. The greatest reward is seeing meaningful, lasting improvements in patients’ lives.
