About Susan K. Boolbol
Professional Statement
Susan K. Boolbol, MD, FACS, is the system chief of breast surgical oncology and breast program. She is a board-certified, fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist and performs a variety of breast cancer surgeries including lumpectomies and mastectomies. She has a special interest in oncoplastic surgery and nipple-sparing mastectomy; she is also a Hidden Scar certified surgeon.
Dr. Boolbol’s personal mission is to diagnose and successfully treat breast cancer and breast conditions while caring for the whole patient — emotionally and physically — every step of the way.
She participates in many research projects, and major medical and peer-reviewed journals have published her work. Dr. Boolbol served at the President of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Get To Know Me
Most importantly, I am fellowship-trained in breast surgery. I have deep clinical expertise in breast cancer surgical oncology, am actively involved in clinical research.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I will always be honest with patients about their options. I see and treat my patients as a whole person and expect they are able to be honest with me about their questions, fears or concerns.
How do you spend your personal time when you're not caring for patients?
When I have free time, I enjoy traveling, skiing, cycling and reading. Spending time with my children, family and friends is my favorite thing to do.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
When in medical school, my cousin was diagnosed with breast cancer and since that time, treating breast cancer is a personal mission for me. I want to change the patient experience and outcome.

Dr. Boolbol is nothing out of the extraordinary. She is EXCEPTIONAL, I was told over and over by everyone I spoke with All I did was mention her Name and I was told the same thing She is Incredible, Amazing, She is The Best of the Best. To see it for myself I am pleased to say “ Dr. Boolbol is Exquisite Incredibly knowledgeable, Made me feel very comfortable treated me with such care, I didn’t feel like another patient, She made me feel Iike Family, I will recommend her to anyone that needs medical attention.
