About Tarra Evans

Tarra Evans, MD, is a Gynecologic Oncologist and is the Medical Director for Gynecologic Oncology at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She received her medical degree from Brown University and completed gynecologic oncology fellowship training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Dr. Evans is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Gynecologic Oncology. She specializes in the surgical and medical treatment of gynecologic precancers, and cancers of the ovary, uterus, cervix, vagina and vulva. Additionally, she sub-specializes in Palliative Medicine and completed the Harvard Interprofessional Palliative Care Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Dr. Evans has advanced expertise in open, minimally invasive, and robotic surgical techniques, with an interest in complex pelvic surgery to alleviate pelvic pathology-related symptoms. She provides compassionate, whole-patient centered care ensuring patients feel heard, supported and cared for with dignity, combining leading-edge treatment with a thoughtful personalized approach to healing.
