What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Communication. I want my patients to understand the care they receive and have the opportunity to ask questions. I expect patients to be open and transparent in return.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
Family comes first. I love shooting hoops whenever I can.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
If I had to do it all over again, it would still be an infectious disease. The field is full of interesting nuances and there’s always more to learn. Helping patients recover from infections is the most rewarding part.
