Yolanda Phillip, NP

Yolanda Philip is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in oncology. She enjoys being part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best health outcomes for our patients. This includes listening to each patient’s unique circumstances that will help determine how they will adhere to a particular course of treatment. Yolanda strongly believes in patient education focusing on prevention and wellness screenings. Oncology is an ever-changing specialty. She enjoys being part of a specialty that is continuously being improved with new medications and new treatments. 

Why should someone choose you to care for their health? 
I am genuinely concerned with my patients’ health and well-being. I strive to establish a caring and meaningful relationship with each patient. 

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them? 
Patients should expect a caring and understanding provider. Oncology can be a difficult specialty but can also be rewarding. Patients can expect a provider that is willing to give them space to vent when needed and a hand to hold during difficult times. 

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients? 
I enjoy spending time with my family and making memories that will always be treasured. 

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward? 
Oncology can be very difficult at times but rewarding as well. The life lessons I have learned from oncology patients are unforgettable. The strength that comes from fighting such an insidious disease is amazing to see. It has also taught me not to sweat the small things in life.
