Get To Know Me

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I understand that every patient’s journey is unique, especially in gastroenterology, where conditions can deeply impact quality of life. I take the time to listen, educate, and involve patients in every step of their treatment, ensuring they feel heard and empowered, never dismissed. Being bilingual in English and Spanish also allows me to connect with a broader group of patients. Ultimately, I strive to deliver the kind of care I’d want for my own family, skilled, respectful, and human.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
My patients can expect honesty, empathy, and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of their care. I see our relationship as a partnership, one built on trust, open communication, and mutual respect. I will always take the time to listen, explain, and advocate for what’s best for their health, with treatments grounded in both evidence and compassion. In return, I ask that my patients stay engaged, ask questions, and take an active role in their health journey. When we work together, we achieve the best outcomes

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
When I’m not caring for patients, I value quality time with family and friends, whether it's sharing a meal, exploring a new destination, or simply enjoying meaningful conversation. I have a passion for trying different cuisines and discovering new cultures through travel, which gives me a broader perspective and helps me stay connected to the diverse communities I serve. These experiences outside of medicine keep me grounded, fulfilled, and better equipped to care for others with empathy and presence

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose gastroenterology because it uniquely combines complex internal medicine, procedural skill, and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients. It allows me to think critically about systemic diseases while also making a direct impact through endoscopy. The greatest reward is restoring quality of life, whether it's helping someone manage a chronic condition like IBD, diagnosing an early cancer, or simply relieving a symptom that’s been disrupting their daily life.
